In all cases, we can listen in and imagine what kind of Motorhead tracks these folks will be getting together?
Exciting times to keep us cheerful through the impending Autumn and Winter.

Motorblog Imagine It's 1967: And you have The Who's 'I Can See For Miles' absolutely roaring through your head everywhere you go, and along with this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PStzQW6XVkM from the same time period, with the two together you'll understand why Motorhead came to be such a favourite...
Motorblog Sheep In Wolves' Clothing (Part 8): Ex-Hawkwind bassist, Alan Davey, (who has also recorded several albums under his own name), has just zoomed in to snatch the 10th and final track on this CD, and he's taking on 'Stay Clean.'

So that's it, we're full now, and thank you to everyone taking part.

Motorblog Sheep In Wolves' Clothing (Part 7): Blue Oyster Cult and The Brain Surgeons multi-instrumentalist, Albert Bouchard, has stepped up to the oche for an 'unusual version' of 'Back At The Funny Farm.'

Motorblog Sheep In Wolves' Clothing (Part 6): Girlschool http://www.girlschool.co.uk/
Lissy Abraham http://web.mac.com/lissy
and Annie at http://www.hobbyhorsecafe.com/
have agreed to a track each on the CD, though have yet to decide which one?
But knockout nevertheless!
Only TWO more to go!

Random Thoughts:
If love is blind, why is lingerie so popular?
If Polish people are called Poles, should those from Holland be called Holes?

Motorblog Xmas Mail Scam: Just heard about this and can only presume it's true?
You get home to find a card on your doormat saying a parcel company has tried delivering but you were out, and asks you to call the number on the card.
Apparently, this is the scam, as it's a Premium Rate Line and the call cranks up a hefty bill in a very short space of time.
So, if you order anything and get a card waiting for you, check the given number; it should be a LOCAL NUMBER!
If it isn't, think about what, if anything, you have ordered through the mail, if you haven't, throw the card away or contact your local Citizen's Advice to report it.

Motorblog Brother To Orgasmatron: This song has always been an absolute favourite, and now with some (almost) suitable film...
http://youtube.com/watch?v=Mqu30NXgUcI&mode=related&search
Fabulous lyrics, which The Whole World, in all its' squirming agony about being 'green,' should take note of - we are fucking up the very thing we need to live - FRESH AIR!
So 'March Or Croak'...

Motorblog Sheep In Wolves' Clothing (Part 3): San Franciscan band, Spirits Burning, who may well be using the talents of some-time Hawkwind vocalist, Bridget Wishart, have asked to record 'Ace Of Spades' for the project.
Artistes and bands getting involved should look at the end of January 2008 to get their completed work to me here on CD; thank you.

Motorblog Sheep In Wolves' Clothing (Part 2): Mick Farren and guitarist Andy Colquhoun have committed to an 'unusual' version of 'Lost Johnny;' apt and appropriate as (you know) Mick wrote the lyrics back in Lemmy's Hawkwind days, they are quite some sci-fi story in a 3-minute song, and a favourite track amongst us fans. Oh, to have that one brought back into today's set! I do believe we might gibber uncontrollably; and may well do so over this new version by Mick and Andy in the meantime...

Motorblog Sheep In Wolves' Clothing: Is the title I'm losely using at the moment for this fan club CD project as it seems to fit the bill.
Already I have 5 artistes, if not bands, interested, as well as the 'Capricorn' track by Mad Dogs, which is already 'in the can' as they say.
There is still time to contribute, but, if those who are interested stay interested and remain on the bus for the ride, then we only have FOUR spare tracks out of the planned TEN.
So things are moving rather FAST!
NOTE:
This is not going to be some half-arsed, quick-buck, cheap-jack, 'burned on the PC in the back-room' jobbie! It will be professionally mastered and pressed by a legitimate CD company, and the songwriter's will receive their appropriate dues via the MCPS.

Motorblog Mick Farren: Yes, that once-upon-a-time Deviants lead vocalist and Ladbroke Grove gunslinger who wrote the lyrics for 'Lost Johnny,' 'Damage Case' and 'Keep Us On The Road' has some 30 novels to his credit, and this Link will give you a potted history of most of them:-

and he Blogs at http://doc40.blogspot.com/
and his albums are at http://www.thanatosoft.freeserve.co.uk/supermarket.htm
Motorblog Bands / Artistes Wanted For Tribute CD: Nine (9) bands / artistes are required to contribute 'completely different' recordings of Motorhead songs for a Motorheadbangers Fan Club tribute CD.
What I am after is a Motorhead track NOT just like the original, NO, I'm after a Motorhead song at a different tempo, with a different arrangement, or played with any instrument you like as long as IT'S NOT an electric guitar, or an electric bass guitar and drums just like Motorhead do. That's been done before and they are GREAT versions and GREAT tributes, but I want that Motorhead song recorded in a 'COMPLETELY DIFFERENT' and original way, radically, even, and if there are one or more females singing it, (though not essential), then that's even better, because Motorhead sung from the female aspect will be interesting. I'm not going to put any more images into your head, use your imagination. Contact me at alan.burridge1@ntlworld.com to tell me which song you'd like to do, (we don't want them duplicated), and 'Capricorn' is already taken care of - so Go For It!
NOTE: Your track must be recorded AT YOUR OWN EXPENSE and submitted on Compct Disc.
A Contract will be produced when your agreed completed track is received, and Royalties paid when the proposed pressing of 500 copies of the album have been sold.

Motorblog Today We Had Mail: And even though the majority of it was junk mail, it kind of made the world tick properly again seeing postal workers, (daren't be sexist!), tearing around the streets on their bicycles. They're usually almost invisible by their very presence, but when they're not there, you miss them; if you know what I mean!

Tuesday, October 09, 2007

Motorblog The Postal Workers: are striking again on Monday 15th, (drag, even the bills and junk mail will have some kind of lurid thrill value after this!), so despite my Blog below, I'm going to mail out today and then see how things develop.

Friday, October 05, 2007

Motorblog That Ol' Letter Box Blues: The Postal workers here in the UK are on strike until next Wednesday, I believe. This means mail will not start being delivered again until at least Thursday 11th October. To allow for the backlog to clear, no Fan Club mail will be sent out until Saturday 13th October. Likewise, any mail sent here will not arrive until the end of w/e October 12th, so please be patient.
You can, of course, still subscribe or resubscribe via the PayPal facility on the main site of http://www.alanburridge.freeuk.com but be aware of the above dates as a guide.

Motorblog Wise Before The Event Just Once: Their name, 'The Hamsters,' inspired nothing in me, despite their Jimi Hendrix / ZZ Top live set. So, if you see their name at a venue local to you, just go along there and watch the man, (guitar playing-wise), who's the closest anyone will ever get to the real JIMI! And here's a short sample...

Motorblog Nightly Deadshade:
And in the evening,
when all the day is done,
and the sand man's paid his visit,
and the Red Indian's have won,
the dying embers crack,
sending sparks into the sky,
and we look up forever,
asking the reason why?
but are they looking down on us,
their question just the same,
in this Universe of circumstance,
are we part of a stupid game?

Motorblog Saxon with Lemmy: Saxon Rock It Down! My old school buddy, Eric Billett, mailed to tell me Saxon will be releasing the download single 'I've Got To Rock To Stay Alive' on October 19th. It features guest appearances from Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead, Andi Deris from Helloween, and Angry Anderson from Rose Tattoo.
Presumably it will also be released as a good old-fashioned CD single as well?
