MHB's Fanzine 89: Went into the post box about at about 19.30, on this cold, crisp as a good biscuit, but not snowy, evening.
They are usually posted early AM tomorrow, but with the threat of snow, the risk of not being able to get to the letter box was in mind. So, it happened, and I am pleased, and we didn't get the snow, anyway.
Never mind, better safe than sorry.

Tragedy After Motorhead Leeds Show:
http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/Police-launch-murder-inquiry-after.6641798.jp
Thanks to my mate, Eric Billet, who emailed the news.
'7 Deadly Shows': Regrettably, the quality of the recordings were not up to the standard the band member's expected, so this project was called off, and anyone who sent money will receive a refund from Concert Live, or goods triple the value of their payment.

Just Back From The Brixton Show: Where I travelled with and met some amazing MHB's, a full report will be included in the April 2011 fanzine (issue # 90). Thank you to everyone I met, you are all amazing, and to Motorhead for another top-notch show.
In case you missed the news on previous blogs, the 'official bootlegs' of 7 of the shows, (some still to be played), will be available to buy as single CD's for £20 + £2-99 postage each, or as 'The 7 Deadly Shows' box set, for £140 + postage. See here www.concertlive.co.uk for all the info you need, and have the plastic ready to spank, you deserve it as an Xmas present to yourself.

Brixton Tomorrow: It's the big London date on the UK tour tomorrow, and there are a huge number of MHB's coming over from Europe to visit the capital on week-long stays and weekend breaks to take in the 35th Anniversary concert.
I hear that one of the earlier shows on the tour was filmed as a testament to the celebration, and in line with recent Motorblogs regarding the '7 Deadly Shows' box set, 'Concert Live' will be recording the audio for Brixton.
If you look at the Concert Live website, the CD's can be bought seperately at £20 each, or £140 for the set.
All things being well, I will see some of you there.

Darts Or A Motorhead Gig?: No contest! With the dart's final during the evening, it had to be Sky+'d. Motorhead at Southampton Guildhall will always be first in my life, despite the love for the arrows.
The afternoon session saw James Wade in tip-top form, hitting everything he aimed for. So I wasn't too sure how Scott Waites would fare against him?
And with Wade the #2, it's brilliant that Scottie beat him to get a new name on the trophy.

The gig was excellent, of course, and great seeing / meeting so many MHB's there. Even more will be present on Saturday at Brixton, so it looks like it will be a major meeting of the clan.
So many have offered to buy me a drink, but I would die if I drunk them all, even if it's lemonade, so please don't be offended. It will be great just saying Hello and having a quick chat.

Sunday, November 21, 2010

Darting Around: The Co Stompe match was lacklustre on his part, and Scott Waites went through to play in the final.
The edge-of-the-sofa match followed, with Steve Beaton and Phil Taylor fighting one another off down to the final double - with Beaton winning, this will be the first PDC final Taylor hasn't taken part in - or won!

'7 Deadly Shows': Just heard back from Todd Singerman. These shows are legit, and there are marketing company's doing this kind of thing. A lot of bands are happy to release their live shows this way, rather than have them bootlegged. Marillion, ELP, and Asia are just 3 on Amazon who have live 2010 shows on sale just noticed on a quick look.
For some time, The Damned and Robert Plant have offered their shows as downloads the day after the performance. So they can then either be saved or burned to CD. Some bands offer download and / or CD, so it's modern technology getting back at the bootlegger.
And why ever not.
The artwork is a bit drab in most cases, but it's the music we're buying, innit!
Motorhead - '7 Deadly Shows': Well, not sure what this is all about or if it's legit? But I hope the set was / is changed freqently to keep it interesting - some of the shows have yet to be played...
http://www.bravewords.com/news/150877
Thanks to MHB Michael Hannon of American Dog in Ohio for sending the news. Will post more details as and when they come through.

And Amazon have just emailed to say 'The World is Yours' Limited Edition CD with 'Classic Rock Presents Motorhead' magazine is now set for release on January 19th 2011.

MHB Jon Jago emailed to say he thinks they have confused the Limited Edition with the normal album release.
Well, if they have, F**k 'em.
I cancelled it and re-ordered with HMV, who are still offering it on the December 14th release date, and with FREE POSTAGE!!!

A review of the Glasgow show -

What Else Is There: but the darts at the moment? Well, yes, rugby. But that was always far too physical, (had enough dentists problems without adding to them), and it wasn't on our syllabus at school, and football was bad enough.
There are a few different names going through to the semi-finals.
Barney is out.
Stompe, Gary Anderson, and Scott Waites are on fire.
And the Motorhead tour is the only serious other matter, of course...
and 36 days until Xmas....

Great Darts: last evening, with Co Stompe getting an amazing bullseye - bullseye - double 16 out. He did a war dance / karate kid style celebratory whirling dervish thing on one foot, and was in tears at his win after pulling back from 3 legs to 1 down. Priceless.

Enjoying The Darts: On ITV4. Have to negotiate with Mrs. B for manoeuvres during her Soaps, but getting the lion's share.
For the first time (for me, on TV), it was fun seeing Ted Hankey beat Phil Taylor.

Fanzine 89: A mild flurry of activity to get things sewn up and to the print shop. MHB's photographer general, Henri Clausel, had been to the Aberdeen and Glasgow shows, and had some up-to-date shots to slip in at the 11th hour.
Digital printing is new to everyone, and recent lessons have been learned which will make our fanzine look just a little bit different to the usual format. This only means that Page 2 will now be Page 3, and the exterior and interior (pages 2 and 19) covers will now be in colour. The centrefold, (pages 9,10,11 & 12) will be colour as before, and the balance will be in black and white.
This has come about as 2 colour sides can be printed together, but one side colour and one side black and white have to go through the machinery twice. So doing things the new way makes things less labour-intensive, and thus, less expensive.
I feel sure many will hardly notice the difference, and others not care just as long as the fanzine drops through their letter box.

There are also 10,000 FREE DOWNLOADS of the full acoustic song on http://bit.ly/K1664Ace So, as we don't get much in life for eff all, please take advantage, courtesy Motorhead and Kronenbourg 1664.

Born To Raise Hell: Sarmad sent this one, it's fun, and cleverly edited.

Seems many had Internet problems yesterday, so Thursday stayed blank. It was just dead until the evening, when it came alive for gaming - typical!

Mick Farren: Has now returned from LA to live in Brighton, and his Doc40 blog is again up-and-running.
Well worth a look, as there is news of a new Deviants / Pink Fairies compilation CD, and the promise of Deviants / Pinks gigs at some point in the not-too-distant future.
Welcome home, Mick.

First Night Of The Tour: Aberdeen are benefitting from the first date on the tour this year. Last year it was Plymouth, t'other end of the country, and one I could get to with ease.
But it's a blinking long way up there, and it's cold, and always a cold mortal these warfarin tablets make it worse. Brrr.
But I hope everyone enjoyed the gig, and if someone can email quick review, (or for Glasgow), there are a few lines spare which need filling before the fanzine goes to print on Friday.
Any offers?

'The World Is Yours' Fan Pack: Webmaster Sarmad has placed a Link on the opening page of www.alanburridge.freeuk.com for you to pre-order the fan pack. It is also in the Fan Club section, same thing, just there if anyone misses it 1st time.
We need to try and get Motorhead higher than Slash's 30,000 sales, so pre-book today. Let's show the world just how much we are gagging for this album!
The only way, apparently, to get it via a newsagents is if you get 'Classic Rock' magazine on a regular basis. Most rock fans do, but if you're buying it as a one-off, (or maybe even if you have a sub, as it's a special edition?), you might need to pre-order.
The album itself, without the Fan Pack, will be released on January 17th, and who can wait that long?
I have been informed that the band recorded a video in London last week for the single, which will be the 'Born To Lose' track.
The single and the album will be released on the band's own 'Motorhead Music' label, which is why the album is out late for the UK leg of the tour, due to setting everything up, leglities; etc. However, Mikkey has said that we will get 2 or 3 new songs from the album live at the shows as tasters, so can't complain there.

I didn't realise until today, that Phil recorded his guitar parts in Wales as his father was ill, and sadly, eventually passed away.
RIP Jack Campbell.

Motorhead - 'The World is Yours': Special Edition 'Classic Rock Presents Motorhead' magazine and CD is now available for Pre-Order from Amazon.
You don't pay until the day it is sent, (December 14th 2010), so pre-order NOW to show them what we're made of!
Let's exceed Slash's 30,000 copies.
Let's exceed AC/DC's 3 million unit pre-order for 'Black Ice.'
Don't delay, do it today.

Wednesday, November 03, 2010

'The World Is Yours' Motorhead Fan Pack: Motorhead's new album will be released on December 14th as a Special Fan Pack.
The album will be sold with a 132 page magazine - 'Classic Rock Presents - Motorhead' - dedicated to the band, retailing at £14-99.
Either order a copy from your newsagent, or, if it is like the similar limited edition of Slash's album, it should be available through Amazon at some point.

Thanks to Eric for the info.
